Hidden between the covers of this book is a fresh look at the cross. A look at what speaks with convincing force for the existence of a God who loves people and changes lives. Then as now. In CROSSWISE , stories, thoughts, songs and illustrations interweave and promote a hopeful culture of togetherness.

CROSSWISE is a project from the heart – a collaboration between author Andreas “Boppi” Boppart and artists from Central Arts. Created through the interweaving of text, music and design, it is a unique treat for the senses, for the heart and mind.

The “book-album” recounts the life-changing encounters of six biblical characters with the crucified Christ. These encounters are made accessible through text, graphics and music. It is a plea for a culture that is characterized by “marveling instead of arguing”. For rediscovering the “good” in the “Good News.” For the rediscovery of how the Gospel can unfold its concentrated power and beauty in today’s world. For a hopeful way of reconciling together around Christ again and again.

So that we can move away from being able to cross ourselves – to become wise by singing “ways of the cross” and looking through the cross.
